Exchange Gifts on a Budget

The secret santa method of exchanging gifts is a popular choice for many office parties and businesses and groups with large numbers of people. It is an excellent way to ensure that everyone in the group receives a gift, and it dramatically cuts the cost involved when each person in the group is expected to purchase an individual gift for every other person.

In a secret santa gift exchange, the names of all involved are put into a drawing. Generally, a limit is set on the price of the gift each person is expected to purchase, $15-$20 is a common price range. Each person in the group draws another person’s name and purchases a gift for the person whose name he or she has drawn. The identity of the recipient a person has chosen is kept secret from both the recipient and the rest of the group. No one in the group knows for sure who purchased whose gift, thus the name, secret santa.

Secret Santa is widely considered one of the most fun and entertaining ways for large groups of people to hold gift exchanges. The recipients can try to guess who purchased the individual gifts and each person can privately speculate who his or her secret santa was. Depending on the group, the identity of each Santa may or may not be revealed, but trying to guess identities usually only adds to the merriment of the occasion.

To add a bit of a challenge to the game, groups may choose to specify a theme for the gift exchange. Movies, food and cooking and fashion are all popular choices for themes and can add just a little challenge to the event. Because the secret Santa method of exchanging gifts is so easy, fun and economical, many groups opt to use this method for their holiday parties each year.

Money Saving Tips for the Holidays

People look forward to Christmas not only for the joyous celebration but also because of salary bonuses. A Christmas bonus can be a lot of money especially if you are trying to pay off credit card debt and bills. For some people, Christmas is a time to splurge on gifts and other things that they’ve been saving all year long.

However, under an economy in recession, it’s not advisable to continue that kind of lifestyle especially if you can hardly afford it. The best thing to do is to think of ways to have money this holiday season. It’s not wise to spend most of your bonuses on one holiday. Make your Christmas gifts and santa letters. Christmas gift ideas include homemade pastries, cookies, cakes, hand-painted greeting cards and santa mail for the kids. Celebrating Christmas doesn’t have to be expensive. A simple dinner with all your loved ones is enough to feel the holiday cheer.

Safety Measures in Making Candles

Before you start following the candle making instructions you should concern yourself first on the primary safety measures in making a candle.

  • The first thing to prepare is a clean working area. Your workspace should be covered neatly with an old tablecloth or tarpaulin and newspapers for accidental spills.

Dubai is Incomplete Without Atlantis

When it comes to hotels then Dubai has probably got more than its fair share of scintillating resorts. Among this great density of classy hotels, some are a bit too garish and others too pricey, I think the best among them is Atlantis. It is one of most flamboyant hotels in the world and the services it offers are very impressive as well. I would say it is one of the hotels in Dubai that doesn’t overcharge. A single night’s stay at most of the other listed hotels will cost you a fortune but at Atlantis it will only cost you around US$ 500-1100 depending upon the plan you chose. Atlantis has, apart from the services intrinsic to a 6-star status, a resplendent water park spread over 160,000 square meters and a unique Dolphins Bay hat lets you swim among dolphins! All in all Atlantis is probably a one of its kind hotel and has been Middle East’s leading resort for both 2010 and 2011. So if you want some quality time at a great hotel in Dubai then Atlantis is surely the place.

When the Song Do They Know It is Christmas? (feed the World) Debuted in 1984

When the song do they know it’s christmas? (feed the world) debuted in 1984 I was stunned by the both good and bad press it received. This song was made by Band Aid to help raise funds to help the people; not just the children; but the people of Africa. And while it sounds like a cold and callous song it is very true and that is why the controversy. Many people were not ready for the truth. And they were quite content keeping a blind eye for the people of Africa. But when they were forced to look at it, they were disgusted by it and in turn blamed Band Aid. It is all ludicrous if you ask me. The country needs assistance and if Americans are able to give it to them then we should. Not just during Christmas either since the majority of the population is not even Christian, but year round assistance.
