Getting Serious Savings from Boat Auctions
It’s still a mystery that many boat buyers don’t seem to be mindful of the bargain potential at local or regional boat auctions. If you’ve ever been to one you know the potential bargain that’s available at any given time. From the queries that I usually get, most boat enthusiasts are misguided by their friends and consequently don’t take assets in boat auctions that seriously. Don’t expect a sea worthy vessel for anything over 30% off as most boats up for auction have previously been repaired for re-sale. You may discover grab something cheap depending on who’s hosting the sale. But for the most part expect to find repo boats in almost as good condition as you would on a dealer’s lot.Bidding is fun but…Everyone loves to go on and start bidding but keep in mind that though you have seen the boat to be in near perfect condition, It would still be better to spend some extra effort or cash to get the prospected boat inspected before bidding. If you’re initial offer is much more than 50% of market value, don’t anticipate a counter offer. The winning bidder must be prepared to pay the initial balance but also the transport, title and any processing fees too. A lot of buyers are a little put off with upfront fees…but don’t let that upset you at all. One of the few mandates you accustom yourself to are the initial fees. You will be required to simply submit an application form to get approved for bidding. If you want to win at your next boat auction realize that there will be tomorrow. It’s not always winning if you can have a little fun or get stressed; you will be surprised at all the opportunities you’ll encounter.I would also recommend you to go watch various auctions prior to bidding. You need to get a good sense of how it all works.
